Please join us April 20 as we commemorate a moment in April 1863 when Bahá’u’lláh ushered in a new epoch in the spiritual life of humanity when He declared that He was the Manifestation of God for this day. It is this declaration which the Bahá’ís celebrate as the Festival of Ridván, named for the beautiful garden then situated on an island in the Tigris River where the announcement was made during His 12-day stay on the island.

“O ye beloved, and ye handmaids of the Merciful! This is the day when the Day-Star of Truth rose over the horizon of life, and its glory spread, and its brightness shone out with such power that it clove the dense and high-piled clouds and mounted the skies of the world in all its splendour. Hence do ye witness a new stirring throughout all created things.” — Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 111
